Day -7
Hola! I am very
excited to go on the study abroad trip.
I have no real expectations for this trip outside of the fact that I
expect my Spanish comprehension and conversation skills to increase. I want to come back being able to speak the
language with Spanish speakers here in Utah to a greater degree. I lack confidence when it comes to the
Spanish language. Overcoming this lack
of confidence will be the hardest thing for me to overcome. If I have supportive host
family/teacher/classmates, I should be ok.
My biggest fear associated with this trip is that I won’t get most out
of it. I really need to let loose and
embrace the experience.
I am sad that I will have to leave my friends and family
behind for such a long period of time. I
still need to set up a communication schedule with them as a way of maintaining
sanity through avoiding the heavy side effects of homesickness. My
greatest comfort is that I have others that will be in the same scenario with
me both in the Dominican Republic and Spain.
I believe this will be an experience of a lifetime.
